Living in California...eh!

Ahhhhh......need shades in Sunny California. It's another beautiful day here, clear skies, and mild temperature. Here is the Lilibug sporting a new fashion statement, cool shades, and a bib to catch all her drooling. She is laying out on the grass enjoying the lovely day and goregous temperatures.
Nothing new to report, just chilling and relaxing with Mama Ladybug. However, the Lilibug does have a big week this week with a playdate lunch with a little boy who is just a few weeks younger than her, and her first visit to check out a potential day care (yikes...Mama Ladybug is not happy about the idea of day care but it's time to begin looking and visiting such places). It's a big week, so right now the Lilibug is just relaxing at home, soaking up the rays.

She did it!

The Lilibug slept through the night last night for the first time! It was beautiful, of course, for me the Ladybug....I got more sleep last night since her arrival into this realm. Although, I still awoke numerous times to check on the little bug to see if she was alright and surprisingly she slept on from 9pm until 5:45 am this morning....what a little doll! I do know this is probably not going to last, but I have enjoyed her new sleeping schedule however long it does last.

It has begun.....

yup, that's right....teething! Drooling everywhere and biting everything, along with the other lovely side effects. The little Lilibug has started to teeth, it may be awhile until some choppers make their first appearance over her gums but the process has begun. Our little bug is making her way in the world, first teeth, then walking and talking....what next???? For now everything goes into the little bug's mouth.

Pow Wow

Lilibug attended her first Pow Wow yesterday at the San Francisco State University. It was a small gymanisum Pow Wow, with a few dancers, and many vendors. We arrived just before grand entry finished, and the little Lilibug was right at home with her fascination of this new experience. Daddy took her right in the inner circle and showed her the dancers up close. She showed no ounce of fear by the drums, and she seemed totally take with the vibrant colors on the dancers clothes. She appeared to love the whole event. The social butterfly she is already attracted her first admirers, a young boy (probably five or six years old) dressed in his dance regalia came up to her, held her hand and stared into her eyes transfixed. He asked her name, and continued to hold her hand staring at her for a full five minutes. His mother stated that he loved babies, and the look on his face seemed pure love. Perhaps an Indigo, and/or just pure love......whatever it was that moment was beautiful. Later on another boy came by and admired her beautiful blue eyes saying she was a pretty baby.

The Lilibug did not fuse once yesterday during her outing at the Pow Wow, she actually seemed rather content and observant of her surroundings. The drumming, singing, and dancing captured her attention as she looked around her environment observing the celebration of dance. So much to see and hear!!! It was a honor to expose Lilibug to part of her culture and heritage. It was her first dance outing with many more soon to follow.

Bug Family

Where does Lilibug come from? Why the bug family, of course. What originally started the concept of the bug family? Well, when I was pregnant Chretien started calling me the 'Ladybug' for whatever reason, probably because I tend to wear lots of red and black and with the weight gain I looked kind of like a round bug. This was an endearing term, and then in the hospital one of the nurses (without the knowledge of Chretien calling me the Ladybug) called Lilibug - the 'Ladybug'. I smiled to myself, asking this small bundle of joy if she liked being called the 'Lilibug' - meaning 'Ladybug' ? From that moment forth the name 'Lilibug' has stuck. Chretien eventually became the 'Hairybug' because it's a suiting fit for him as the daddy of the family and he is naturally very hairy, and he is a gardener. So we are the bug family.

Greetings!

Hi! This is the evolution of Lilibug, daughter born to the Ladybug (Lorena) and Hairybug (Chretien). She is our little magical being, our bundle of joy, love, and hope. This blog will be her chronicles, a place where her growth and developmental changes will be noted and remembered.
Let's get started...shall we!

Lilibug catapulted into this reality on December 25, 2007. She arrived at 17:20 weighing in at 6 pounds and 13 ounces! She was alert and alive greeting reality instantly with eyes wide open. Of course, it took her some time arriving, water broke at 4 am on December 24 and 37 hours later, after a c-section she made her way into our lives. Almost instantly, as she was placed close to the breast she started chowing down with a twinkle in her eye. It was beautiful, and she was beautiful. A lovely little doll full of infinite potential beginning her journey in this world. Immense love and gratitude shone down on her and continues to do as she grows and makes her way in this world, an ever changing world.

We are proud parents, but what's more the idea of the preciousness of life is held within this tiny individual who will grow and develop her own personality, who will blossom into adulthood in her own way. The idea of something coming from nothing is profound beauty, and this is what the Lilibug has represented to her parents. A sense of eternal gratitude surrounds this little being as she continues her connection to the outside reality.

We (her proud parents) thank her for chosing to make this journey.
